We have lots and lots of pictures that we took at the party but didn't want to bore everyone with all.
We had our 50th party on August 18, 2007 (the exact date of our wedding, August 18, 1957. It was held at a restaurant in Pasadena and we had about 80 family and close friends for dinner and a party. The invitations had our original wedding picture on the front. We had all our wedding pictures displayed on a table in the front along with a digital frame playing anniversary songs and showing a continual slide show of our years together. The kids decorated with gold and white balloons all over and had small white tea rose arrangements at each table. Our sons had downloaded about 100 hit songs from 1952 to 1958 and they played them on a sound system. We had most of our wedding party attend with the exception of Marcia Barrera Nemer, our maid of honor who lives in Virginia and just couldn't make it. Two of Bill's ushers also couldn't attend. After dinner, Dan, our younger son, read the story of how Bill and I met at Luther Burbank, our going steady days, our courtship,
our engagement and our wedding and our newlywed days. My brother from Florida talked about Bill and I while we were dating, my nephew gave a Clinton impersonation of congrats to us, one of our bridesmaids spoke about doubledating with us, Bill and I both spoke of our life together and our families. Bill's older brother, who was our best man, finished the program with a champagne toast. The kids did a great job with the party and we will remember that night as long as we live.
