GAYLYN STEWART HARRINGTON
My Biography

In '55 I could not have even dreamed of the exciting future that lay before me. Now, as I read of my classmates experiences, I know I was part of the most blessed class that ever walked the hallowed hall of JBHS.

Let's see.....Directly after graduating, I went to work for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank in Feb. 1955. In May of 1955, I met my future husband and married in Nov. 1955. Continued working at Lockheed, had my first son (Jamie) in Oct. 1957, and worked until my oldest daughter (Dayna) was born in Jan. 1959. Went back to work at Lockheed in 1963 at the "Skunk Works" and then left in October of the same year. Stayed home with family until 1965 after my second daughter (Rochelle) was born Dec. 1964, then started modeling for various women's clothing manufacturers until 1968 when I started work for Her Majesty Ind., Inc. (mfg. of children's clothing)at the Children's Markets three times a year. Had another son (Jason) Nov. 1969. After divorcing, I started full time for Her Majesty in 1972, as Regional Office Mgr. for the same firm, traveling three times each year to Mauldin, So.Carolina (where the mfg. plant was) for seasonal sales meetings. After 17 years with Her Majesty (working in the California Apparel Mart in L.A.), I tried my hand at independent representation of 3 children's clothing lines (went bust after the bottom fell out of the children's market). Moved to Washington State in 1992 and started working for the National Park Service.

I have been working for the North Cascades National Park (NPS) for the last 9 years as a Communications Operator (Dispatch) on a seasonal basis, and love it!

I enjoy the "great outdoors", have read many thousands (yes I said thousands) of books, mainly SF, Fantasy, and early native history, and have boxes & boxes of books in storage. I crochet, wood carve, and talc carve figurines & abstracts (nothing commercial, just for enjoyment). All in all, I'm enjoying life in the 'wilderness'. In my younger years, I enjoyed riding my motorcycle, but gave that up in the late 80's.

I have 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Thankfully, I have been able to keep in close contact with them and visit often.
